Naytronix – “Back In Time” (Stereogum Premiere)
Nate Brenner is well-known as the touring bassist for tUnE-yArDs, but his solo project Naytronix has evolved since 2012 when he released his debut full-length, Dirty Glow. Three years later, Brenner is slated to put out a new album titled Mister Divine, which was initially conceived as a series of sounds to be used in DJ sets that eventually revealed themselves to be worthy of an official release. Initiating with a sharp drum beat, “Back In Time” is an obvious nod to Arthur Russell’s wayward experimentalism, and its influences spiral out from there. Listen below.
