Austin indie-poppers Sweet Spirit recently collaborated with Spoon’s Britt Daniel on a two-song 7″, and they also released their self-titled EP, produced by Spoon collaborator Mike McCarthy. Now, as Consequence Of Sound reports, McCarthy also produced the band’s debut full-length Cokomo, which comes out next month. First single “Baby When I Close My Eyes” is an eminently listenable piece of sharply orchestrated power-pop, and it’s got a bit of a New Pornographers feeling about it. Listen to it at CoS.
