Elbow’s Guy Garvey Announces Debut Solo Album
Elbow released a new four-song EP back in July, and today, the band’s lead singer and guitarist Guy Garvey announced that he’s putting out a solo album later this year. Courting The Squall is Garvey’s debut, and it will be released on 10/30. Garvey posted the following message to his Facebook page:
Elbow graciously gave me some time to write a solo album. I’ve wanted to try for years and I’m really proud of it. “Solo” because I wrote everything but I was far from alone. I invited my favourite players outside of elbow (many of them also my favourite people) and we moved fast, drank a lot and had what can only be described as a massive laugh along the way.
The album’s first single is titled “Angela’s Eyes,” and though it’s currently unavailable in US stores, fans in the UK will receive an automatic download if they preorder Courting The Squall now. Check out Garvey’s tour dates below.
