Made Of Oak is the solo project Nick Sanborn (one half of Sylvan Esso), and he teased his debut EP, Penumbra, back in August. Today he shares the video for Penumbra song "Pindebender." The crisp production that made Sylvan Esso stand out is evident here, but it's weighted down by more bass and a deeper exploration of squiggly synth-mania. Sans Amelia Meath, Sanborn turns the instruments themselves into voices, telling a jagged call-and-response story.
