Wet – “Weak”
The grace that every Wet song moves with is astounding — “Weak” is the trio’s latest after a long pause following the pristine “Deadwater,” and it’s just as tenderly and lovingly crafted as everything else they’ve put out so far. The building blocks of their songs are simple but divine: Kelly Zutrau’s vocals float in over some gently nudging notes until everything just explodes into a firework of soul. “Baby, please don’t leave me/ You are all I ever need,” she sings. Later, she runs in circles: “You get me out of my head, you get me out of my mind, you get me out of my dreams,” longing for all the love that you’re about to lose. It’s beautiful. Listen below.
Wet’s debut album, Don’t You, is expected out early next year via Columbia.
