Stream John Grant Grey Tickles, Black Pressure
The former Czars frontman started out making Americana, but in recent years, he’s moved to a sharp and sinister take on disco-house. Grant’s new album Grey Tickles, Black Pressure finds sharp, squirmy ways to address Grant’s depression and his HIV-positive status, often through jokes and wide-ranging pop-culture references. And he’s got a thick, authoritative voice that sounds pretty incredible over these needling old-school electronic tracks. We’ve already posted “Disappointed,” the song that Grant recorded with Everything But The Girl’s Tracey Thorn. And right now, thanks to NPR, you can stream the full album below.
Grey Tickles, Black Pressure is out tomorrow on Bella Union/Partisan.
