Oscar – “Breaking My Phone”
Oscar Schilling, the young London laptop balladeer, has been impressing us with solo tunes for about a year and a half, and he released his Beautiful Words EP in June. Now he’s following it up with a new single called “Breaking My Phone,” and if you can look at that cover art without inwardly wincing a little, then you probably take better care of your consumer electronics than I do. (Shout out to screen-repair kiosks in malls everywhere. You all charge so much money! And you are all terrible at your jobs!) The song is a slick little piece of homemade indie-pop, and the moment is stops fucking around and kicks in is a clear sign that this kid is not operating on broken equipment. It recently debuted on DIY. Listen below.
The “Breaking My Phone” single is out now on Wichita.
