Watch Dave Grohl Duet With High School Classmate Who Beat Him In Battle Of The Bands
Dave Grohl’s band the Foo Fighters have achieved household name status. They regularly sell out packed arena shows and tick off the all boxes as Major Rock Stars. He was also in Nirvana, a band you may have heard of. But no matter the success people achieve in their adult life, it seems that memories of high school linger. Back in ninth grade, Grohl lost a battle of the bands competition to a kid named Chet Lott. At a show in Memphis, Tennessee on Wednesday, Grohl brought Lott out to help him perform Queen and David Bowie’s “Under Pressure.” Fun, random fact: His full name is Chester Lott Jr. and he is the son of Senate Majority leader Chester “Trent” Lott. Local Memphis outlet WMC Action News reports that Lott told Grohl as he exited the stage: “I may have won the battle, but you won the war.” Watch them pass the olive branch below.
