Dan Deacon Will Open For Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz On Tour
Miley Cyrus is very, very serious about letting the world know that she is going full freak right now. She worked with the Flaming Lips on her new surprise album Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz, and now she’d getting ready to head out on tour with the Lips as her backing band. Now Pitchfork reports that she’ll have an opening act who makes perfect sense with this whole project: Baltimore euphoric-electronics party-starter Dan Deacon, who will hopefully be performing in the middle of the crowd and doing his whole rev-everyone-up routine at these shows. Below, check out the tour dates and read some words from Deacon about the whole affair.
Deacon says:
I felt like I was in The Phantom Tollbooth when the offer to open the Miley Cyrus and Her Dead Petz tour came in, but I have a pretty weird life and tend to end up in really bizarre situations that I never in a million years would have pictured. I think it’s safe to say without any doubt that the experience of touring with Miley and the Flaming Lips will be one of the most reality-curving events of my career thus far. Mostly I’m really looking forward to introducing my music and performance to her fans and to watch this show unfold each night.
