The Raveonettes’ Sune Rose Wagner – “Donna” (Ritchie Valens Cover)
The Raveonettes’ Sune Rose Wagner has shared a cover of Ritchie Valens’ 1950s classic “Donna,” which he recorded as a way to make up for a festival set in Mexico that the duo had to cancel recently. The track incorporates a radio broadcast from The Day The Music Died, when Valens along wth Buddy Holly and J.P. “The Big Bopper” Richardson all tragically died in a plane crash. Listen to the cover below.
Here’s a message from Wagner on Facebook:
Here it it Ravers! My version of Donna by the one and only Ritchie Valens. This one goes out to all of those who have shown their love and support throughout the years! But mostly it’s for our Mexican fans who we had to let down recently by not playing the Coordenada Festival due to Sharin’s cancellation. She has all my love and she knows I’m here for her. I’m so truly sorry this happened so this is my personal way of trying to make it up to all of those who were either pissed off or just very disappointed by us not playing the festival…Anyway, enjoy the song and remember music is everything! Love and respect Rave On X Sune
