When Justin Vernon is not writing music for Bon Iver or joining Kanye West on stage at Glastonbury or pursuing sundry other endeavors, he pens songs for Los Angeles indie-choral ensemble the Silver Lake Chorus. Over the summer, the group released their acclaimed self-titled debut album, which sees them perform songs written by notable indie-rock pioneers, namely Tegan And Sara, Ben Gibbard, Wayne Coyne, and Vernon, whose contribution now has a music video. In typical Bon Iver fashion, “From The Snow Tipped Hills” is airy and floaty, Vernon’s breezy songwriting enhanced even further by the group’s ethereal vocals. The video was shot using drone technology overlooking a beautiful California sunset, and the celestial nature of the whole performance is all around enchanting. Watch below.
