Out from Madrid's thriving garage rock scene comes Hinds, the all-female four-piece who meddle with scuzzed-out, lo-fi guitar music. Their sound sits perfectly balanced between the surf-punk stylings of FIDLAR and the slacker indie of Mac DeMarco, but their DIY approach is entirely their own. Their latest single "San Diego" is a beer-spiller from the get-go, out-of-sync vocals fumbling together with ridiculously fun hedonism. The "TA DA DA DA DA DA" of the lawless verses retains the same infectious energy of their live sound, a slightly more '60s pop take on the likes of the Black Lips. It exudes an effortless amount of charm, encapsulating the sort of sunshine you'd get from the song's namesake. Hinds' debut album comes out next January, and we've already heard "Garden" and "Chili Town." Now listen to "San Diego" below.
