In the first week of next year, David Bowie will follow up his very good 2013 album The Next Day with the new joint ? (or, if you prefer, Blackstar.) We've already seen a trailer for the album, and now we get to see the cover art. And where his last album's cover art riffed on the iconic Heroes cover, this new one has a weight all its own. The album will be available in a number of different bundles, and you can look at all of them, and pre-order the album, here. The image you see above is the CD cover, but they're all different.

The video for the title track is premiering later today.
And in other Bowie news, his new musical Lazarus, based on his culty sci-fi movie The Man Who Fell To Earth, opened in previews on Broadway last night.
