Hudson Mohawke – “Indian Steps” (Feat. Antony) Video
UK producer Hudson Mohawke released his first solo LP in six years, Lantern, this past summer and we’ve already seen engaging videos for the songs “Warriors,” “Very First Breath,” and “Scud Books.” Today we’ve been graced with a striking visual accompaniment to “Indian Steps,” which Antony Hegarty sings on. The video was inspired by Rodin’s sculpture “The Kiss,” and Daniel Sannwald created it in partnership with i-D. Here’s what he had to say about the clip:
For the video I recreate that sculpture with two elderly bodies… It was very touching and moving to see two aging bodies in such an intimate way. I wanted to use them as a symbol of time but also to capture the beauty of such vulnerability… I strongly believe that every deep love has its own place and space and therefore lives on forever.
Hegarty recently adopted the moniker ANOHNI, and released the Hudson Mohawke-produced debut single off of her forthcoming album, HOPELESSNESS yesterday. Watch the video for “Indian Steps” below.
Lantern is out now via Warp.
