Watch Jimmy Fallon, The Roots, & The Force Awakens Cast Sing Star Wars
Jimmy Fallon may have finally reached Peak Jimmy Fallon on last night’s Tonight Show, coming out with the absolute Most Viral Shit Ever. A Peak Jimmy Fallon bit has to (1) be stupid, (2) be perversely watchable, (3) involve celebrities, and (4) pick all the flesh from the zeitgeist like a vulture on a dead roadside deer. And last night, he ticked all four boxes when he got pretty much the entire cast of Star Wars: The Force Awakens to do goofy a capella renditions of classic bits from the John Williams Star Wars scores. The opening title theme! The Imperial March! The cantina band’s song! The sad sorry-Yoda-I-have-to-leave music! Daisy Ridley, Oscar Isaac, John Boyega, Adam Driver, Gwendoline Christie, Lupita Nyongo, Carrie Fisher, various droids, and Chewbacca all joined Fallon and the Roots to Pentatonix the shit out of it. They even got grumpy old Harrison Ford to show up for a couple of seconds. And you know what? It’s great! It’s so fun! I will probably watch it again every time I get bored this morning. Check it out below.
Good luck not getting The Force Awakens spoiled for you this week.
