Working For A Nuclear Free City – “Bottlerocket”
When we talked to Gary McClure about his very good new project American Wrestlers earlier this year, he indicated that his former band Working For A Nuclear Free City was no more. Turns out that’s not the case, and the Manchester-born five-piece have pulled together another record, their first in five years. It’s called What Do People Do All Day? — founding member Phil Kay said in a press release that the record is a “loose concept album about peoples lives or various snapshots of people lives.” “Bottlerocket” is their genre-jumping lead single, a funky and jittery four minutes that sees the band alternating between whispers and jabs about sticking together and becoming a collective force to be reckoned with. Listen below.
What Do People Do All Day? is out 2/5 via Melodic Records.
