Quirky pop producer Wise Blood dropped the weirdly awesome Babyland EP this past spring. Today, he sneaks in what is most likely a final one-off for the year via the short, woozy "Rome." Lo-fi, abruptly chopped samples, and rolling hi-hats drive a drowsy, disorienting experience as the Moon Baby locks into a catchy, high-pitched vocal rhythm that floats whimsically above it all. The sloppily chopped samples give the entire track the feeling of an un-quantized intro, but things never quite snap into place, and that prolonged irresolution makes the track peculiarly alluring.
