Matthew E. White – “Cool Out” (Feat. Natalie Prass)
One of last year’s great discoveries was Natalie Prass, the singer-songwriter whose great self-titled debut was stuffed with explosively sunny strings and woodwinds. Prass recorded the album at Spacebomb Studios in Richmond, Virginia, with the great psych-soul revivalist Matthew E. White producing. And White also released his own album last year — Fresh Blood, also impressively layered and orchestrated, and also recorded at Spacebomb. And for a special new one-off single called “Cool Out,” Prass and White come together on the mic for the first time. It’s a warm, lush, expansive duet that White put together with DJ Harrison, a Richmond producer who’s part of the Stones Throw roster. Listen to it below.
“Cool Out” is out now at iTunes.
