Weezer seem to have some sort of standing alliance with Jimmy Kimmel Live; after all, they, along with ZZ Top, inaugurated Kimmel’s first Mash-Up Monday series. Weezer are now a few months away from releasing their fourth self-titled album, this one to be known as the White Album. And it wasn’t a surprise to see them take over the Kimmel show’s festival stage last night. On the show proper, they bashed out the single “Thank God For Girls.” And as an online bonus, they did another one of the album’s shamelessly hooky advance tracks: “Do You Wanna Get High?” Whatever you think of the band’s latter-day material, there aren’t too many other groups who can sound both fearlessly personal and gleamingly professional at the same time.
