Watch Outkast And Future In The Organized Noize Documentary Trailer
Organized Noize is truly one of the most influential hip-hop production crews of all time. Even beyond their hometown of Atlanta, their sounds and tendencies have been borrowed, stolen, and repurposed as rap has traversed different parts of the country and the world. Still, their influence is strongest on their hometown; the ATL’s status as a hip-hop hub would arguably be non-existent without Organized Noize. Among other accomplishments, their work on Outkast’s Speakerboxxx/The Love Below is an integral reason it became one of only two hip-hop albums to win an Album Of The Year Grammy, and their larger collective the Dungeon Family shaped Future’s career, helping him evolve from a hustling kid named “Meathead” into what he is today.
So it is only fitting that Atlanta royalty and some of hip-hop’s biggest names make appearances in their upcoming documentary The Art Of Organized Noize. Joining the aforementioned Outkast and Future are LA Reid, Metro Boomin, Diddy, Cee-Lo Green, Ludacris, TLC, all of whom testify to the genius of Organized Noize trio Rico Wade, Sleepy Brown, and Ray Murray. Not since Vibe’s 2010 story Am I My Brother’s Keeper: The Untold Story Of The Dungeon Family has such a microscopic lens been put on the lives of Organized Noize and the larger collective. If you are a fan of the dirty south, trap, or just hip-hop in general, this is a must-see. Watch the trailer below.
The Art Of Organized Noize will debut at SXSW this year and hit Netflix shortly after on 3/22.
