Animal Collective released Painting With yesterday, and last night, they kicked off a world tour in support of the album at Philadelphia's Union Transfer. AnCo usually develop songs by playing them live before heading into the studio, but they didn't do that this time time around, which means that Panda Bear, Avey Tare, and Geologist performed a number of songs from Painting With live for the very first time last night. They also played "Alvin Row," the closing track from their 2000 debut Spirit They're Gone, Spirit They've Vanished and one of the 10 best Animal Collective songs, live for the first time. Watch fan-footage of them doing "Alvin Row," "Vertical," "Lying In The Grass," "FloriDada," and "Natural Selection" below. [videoembed size="full_width" alignment="center"][/videoembed]
