Kim Gordon And Tomorrows Tulips’ Alex Knost Announce Debut Album As Glitterbust, Share “The Highline”
Since Sonic Youth broke up in 2011, Kim Gordon has stayed busy, playing in the improv-noise duo Body/Head and publishing her memoir Girl In A Band. And now she’s got a new band. Pitchfork reports that Gordon is half of a new duo called Glitterbust. She’s playing alongside Alex Knost, of Californian lo-fi experimenters Tomorrows Tulips, and they’ll release Glitterbust’s self-titled debut next month. It’s a double album with only five songs, so expect those songs to be long. The first thing we’ve heard is “The Highline,” a tingling, feedback-heavy nine-minute space-rock jam with no percussion whatsoever. Listen to it and check out the album’s tracklist below.
