Night Moves – “Carl Sagan”
Mixing the type of vocals you might expect to hear in an arena at a rock show in the ’80s with twangy guitars and plenty of reverb, Night Moves’ new single “Carl Sagan,” off of their upcoming album Pennied Days, is as dramatic as its tonal palate is diverse. Utilizing orchestral and synth pads, the texture of this song is thick, but broken up by the classically booming sound of a retro drum kit. Add an intermittent splash of piano accompaniments and you have a song that pays homage to the past while maintaining a sense of modernity through the sleekness and depth of its production. Listen below.
