Top Dawg Teases Upcoming LPs Including Possible Black Hippy Release Next Year
Top Dawg Entertainment CEO Anthony Tiffith has just posted an Instagram of a whiteboard teasing a whole bunch of upcoming TDE releases.
There’s a lot of exciting stuff here — new solo albums in the works from Schoolboy Q, SZA, Ab-Soul, and Jay Rock, Isaiah Rashad’s proper studio debut, and possibly even something from Kendrick Lamar(???), all scheduled for 2016. There are also two unnamed new artists on the board, both listed as “John Doe.” But perhaps the most intriguing item is the extremely, extremely tentative suggestion that Kendrick, Jay Rock, Ab-Soul, and Schoolboy Q might finally be getting together to put out a full Black Hippy album in 2017 — or at least, Tiffith is praying for that to happen. Let’s all join him, and maybe we can will this thing into existence.
