“What the fuck is a kiss anyway?” Gabrielle Smith asks on “WTF,” the second track we’ve heard from Eskimeaux’s upcoming Year Of The Rabbit EP following “Power.” “What the fuck is this feeling?” It’s a question anyone who has been kissed has wondered, that inexplicable rush you get where you’d rather be nowhere else than with whomever you’re smooching. The song is about Smith’s relationship with bandmate and partner Oliver Kalb (who fronts Bellows and plays in a number of other Epoch projects) and the distance between them when they’re apart for long periods of time, and the spark that happens when eventually reuniting. “We have a pretty unique relationship because we’re in a bunch of bands together,” Smith explained to Billboard, who premiered the track. “We tour sometimes separately, because I’m in Frankie Cosmos… We’ll sometimes have long times apart and it’s very therapeutic because it gives me perspective on how dope our relationship is.” Listen below.
