Beth Orton – “Moon”

Singer-songwriter Beth Orton got her start singing over twinkling, blissed-out Chemical Brothers tracks 20 years ago. And while she's since become a more traditional solo artist, she's coming back to electronic music -- albeit a very different form of electronic music -- on her new album. As The Guardian reports, Orton has been working on new music with Andrew Hung, one half of the electro-psych-noise duo Fuck Buttons. And now she's announced that her new album Kidsticks, the follow-up to 2012's Sugaring Season, is coming this spring. First single "Moon" is dizzy and spaced-out and propulsive, and I probably haven't enjoyed a solo Orton song this much since 1999's "Stolen Car." This is a great song, and you can hear it below.

Kidsticks is out 5/27.
