2 Chainz and Lil Wayne have to be at least a little bit pissed off that Kendrick Lamar came along on the same day that they were surprise-releasing their Collegrove collaborative album and released untitled unmastered., his own surprise-release album. But maybe it’s some consolation that the two get to hear a new Kendrick Lamar album; Wayne, in any case, does not seem too upset about it. Either way, while we’re all reeling from this new Kendrick album, we should make sure not to neglect Wayne and 2 Chainz, who have been working on this full-length team-up for a while. (While you’re listening to the new Kendrick on repeat, it’s actually a bit of a refreshing break to hear what Wayne and 2 Chainz are doing.) Kanye West announced the impending release of Collegrove on Twitter a couple of days ago, and we’ve already posted the early single “Gotta Lotta.” The album has no guests, but it does have production from people like Metro Boomin, Mike Will Made-It, and Mannie Fresh. And since it’s out now, you can stream the whole thing below.

Collegrove (which, perhaps for contractual reasons, is officially a 2 Chainz solo album) is out now on Def Jam.
