Kanye West Says The CD Is Dead, He Isn’t Making Any More
This doesn’t particularly come as a surprise. Kanye West famously released his new album The Life Of Pablo last month as nothing other than a Tidal stream, claiming it would never be commercially available. But today on Twitter, West made it Twitter-official: The CD is dead, and he’s not going to mess around with the format anymore. He also says that the blank-CD packaging of his 2013 album Yeezus was “an open casket” for the format. Here’s how he puts it:
I was thinking about not making CDs ever again… Only streaming

So what do you guys think? Is the CD really dead? And if it’s not dead, when was the last time you bought one?
