London producer Tourist has hinted at the full details of his forthcoming debut, U. He’s already shared the lead single “To Have You Back” and gave it a matching set of visuals. Today, he drops the followup, “Run,” along with all the album’s details. Tourist had this to say about his full-length debut:

This is an album that reflects on a relationship I had with someone. I called it “U” as the word “You” looks a bit accusatory, and the tone of this album certainly isn’t bitter, “U” is a shape that is balanced but also incomplete, I thought it was a nice visual metaphor for a failed relationship.

“Run” is a slow-builder, with repetitive stutters and wobbly synths on a long intro before bouncy drum pattern, shifting atmospheric sweeps, and more playful synths join and envelope heavily-echoed vocal samples. It gets really groovy around the halfway point and keeps that danceable energy up until a much needed cool-down and dissolving outro. Check it out.
