Watch Deftones Perform With Bushwick Bill At SXSW
Deftones played SXSW for the first time ever yesterday, and they were joined by a surprise guest. A few songs into their set, before they launched into the White Pony track “Digital Bath,” Bushwick Bill of legendary Texas rap group Geto Boys joined the band onstage to hype the crowd up with a “When I say ‘Def,’ you say ‘Tones'” chant and deliver his verse from “Mind Playing Tricks On Me.” Watch below.
The great rapper Vince Staples performed right before Deftones, to a crowd of mostly white Deftones fans who had assembled to catch the band’s sole SXSW show. It was reportedly awkward:
vince staples just said he feels like he's at a slave auction, yikes
