LCD Soundsystem Announce Surprise NYC Shows This Weekend
We already know that LCD Soundsystem are coming back this year; they’re headlining practically every summer festival on the face of the earth. But the band’s first show since their grand 2011 Madison Square Garden farewell won’t be at Coachella, as previously reported. Instead, the band will return to play a pair of small-venue hometown shows this Sunday and Monday. (Sunday happens to be Easter, which is perfect for a self-aggrandizing “Back From The Dead” billing. James Murphy is hipster Jesus!) The shows will be at Webster Hall and are sponsored by Panorama, the new NYC fest from the makers of Coachella and one of the many events LCD is headlining. You’ll only be able to buy tickets for this weekend’s shows by winning a lottery, which is a pretty interesting way to deal with scalpers, and you can enter that lottery here. Here’s the tweet:

LCD will of course, return to NYC to headline the Panorama Festival in July. It’ll probably be easier to get tickets to that one.
