El-P, Despot, & Holy Ghost!’s Alex Frankel Open Jewish Deli In Brooklyn
El-P, Despot, and Holy Ghost!’s Alex Frankel are all co-owners of the new Jewish deli Frankel’s, which opened up at 631 Manhattan Ave in Greenpoint, Brooklyn today. As the name indicates, the deli is the brainchild of Frankel and his restaurateur brother Zach, and they’ve hired former Food Network star Ashley Berman to serve as their head chef. The idea behind the venture was, as the brothers told The New York Times, “paying homage to Barney Greengrass, Murray’s, and Russ & Daughters,” all classic New York Jewish delis. Since its opening, El-P has been pushing it hardcore on Twitter:
