Stream Morly Something More Holy EP
Since contributing her track “Maestrom” to Ryan Hemsworth’s Secret Songs compilation last year, electronic artist Morly has been gaining momentum. We premiered her great In Defense Of My Muse EP last year, and now she’s ready to release another EP via Cascine.
Something More Holy has an intriguing sense of clarity in its palette. Morly creates a certain inkiness in her songs, through which each lush sound is able to stretch, reaching celestial heights inside of its terse and prudent arrangement. Though Morly’s soulful vocals are lined with smooth pads, they’re not made to blend into the background, as she introduces new juxtaposed sounds with each track. Whether it be through the title track’s pitched down vocals, “Plucky”‘s subtle organic steel drums, or “By The Polo Pond”‘s lively drum kit and melodramatic orchestra hits, each song achieves distinction in the tracklist while still representing the EP as a whole. Something More Holy is out via Cascine on 4/8 on digitally and on vinyl.
