Dan Lissvik, formerly one half of Swedish production duo Studio, is gearing up for the release of a new solo album in June. Entitled Midnight, the LP is a collection of eight instrumentals recorded in his home studio over the course of the past year. The album title is a reference to the time he would start his recording sessions — after his wife and newborn baby went to bed — and each song is titled after one letter in the word “midnight.” The first track Lissvik has shared from the project, “N,” starts with a murky bassline before launching into a six-minute jam that sounds like it should soundtrack a video game about the adventures of Donkey Kong as a jungle spy.
