Minor Victories – “Folk Arp”
Minor Victories is the new supergroup featuring Slowdive’s Rachel Goswell, Editors’ Justin Lockey, Mogwai’s Stuart Braithwaite, and Hand Held Cine Club’s James Lockey. The pulsating, symphonic post-punk track “A Hundred Ropes” suggested the band would live up to its promise, and second single “Folk Arp” confirms it: This song is absolutely wonderful, and Minor Victories is an album to anticipate breathlessly. It’s a nearly seven-minute symphonic shoegaze ballad that feels like submerging yourself in beauty. Listen below.
