Right now, rap boogeyman and former Death Row Records CEO is in jail, facing a possible life sentence after he killed a man in a hit-and-run on the set of the movie Straight Outta Compton. As Pitchfork reports, Knight, for reasons unknown, has been denied the privileges of phone access and of receiving visitors other than his attorneys. And part of an effort to get his privileges restored, Knight's lawyer has claimed that Knight is being silenced to prevent him from telling of how his old associate Dr. Dre hired a hitman to kill him.

Knight was wounded in a 2014 nightclub shooting, and according to his lawyer Thaddeus Culpepper, a police officer told Knight that a man named Tee-Money had confessed to the shooting. This Tee-Money allegedly claimed that Dre had paid him and a friend to kill Knight. Culpepper also claims that there's video of off-duty police helping the hitmen to enter and escape the club, and that police "inexplicably released Tee-Money."

A lawyer for Dre tells TMZ that Knight's claim is "ridiculous."
