Watch Kanye West Debut A New Song In The Philippines
On Saturday night, Kanye West performed at Manila’s Paradise Fest, giving his first live performance of 2016. At the show, he performed a number of tracks from his new album The Life Of Pablo for the first time, and we’ve posted some of those videos. But as Pitchfork points out, he also took the opportunity to debut a new song. The track, which might be called “I Don’t Want To Be Liked,” sounded at least partly improvised. It was West singing, through heavy Auto-Tune, about his own public image for an extended period of time before finally leading it into the hook from “Runaway.” One of his refrains: “Most artists aren’t appreciated in their own time.” At the same show, he also performed his part from Drake’s new single “Pop Style” for the first time, and you can watch fan-made videos of both of those tracks below.
West is supposedly planning to release another album this year, but even if that does happen, I wouldn’t expect this new track to be on it.
