Living Hour – “Seagull” Video (Stereogum Premiere)
Winnipeg dream-poppers Living Hour put out their self-titled debut back in February, and now they’re gifting us with a new video for one of the LP’s highlights, the soaring early single “Seagull.” Directed by Nicholas Taylor, the clip is a return to the cold isolation of Canadian winter, following a day in the life of a family — mother, daughter, and young son — as they eat dinner together and attend the daughter’s indoor soccer game. It’s a largely uneventful but moving narrative that highlights the monotony of daily living and the sacrifices that parents make for their children, while still leaving room for the little moments that make it all worthwhile.
