Watch Grizzly Bear Play Bernie Sanders Rally In Brooklyn
The New York primary is coming up on Tuesday, and Bernie Sanders has been busy this week. The fact that indie musicians love Bernie has been well-documented on this site in recent months, and the Democratic candidate has been enlisting some high-profile bands to help New Yorkers feel the Bern. Vampire Weekend (plus Dirty Projectors’ Dave Longstreth) gave their first live performance in a couple of years at a rally in Manhattan’s Washington Square Park on Wednesday, and today, Grizzly Bear did the same, coming out of their hibernation — because bears, get it? — to play a Bernie event in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park. In advance of their imminent recording of LP5, Ed Droste and co. played a very brief set that included Veckatimest highlights “Two Weeks” and “While You Wait For The Others” and Yellow House’s “Knife,” which you can watch below. (Note they changed the lyrics in “Knife” to “Can’t you feel the Bern“). TV On The Radio are performing at another rally on Monday, which you can RSVP to here.
