The French duo of Nicolas Godin and Jean-Benoît Dunckel, better known as Air, made their international debut 20 years ago. Seven albums (and one soundtrack that is essentially an album) later, the sultry retro-futurists are ready to look back on their longevity. They are set to release their first ever anthology, Twentyears, this summer with a “best of” tracklist curated by the duo themselves including hits spanning five albums. The double-CD’s first disc features album tracks like “Sexy Boy,” “Kelly Watch The Stars,” “Playground Love,” “Cherry Blossom Girl,” and “Le Soleil Est Près De Moi,” while the second disc includes 14 rare and unreleased songs. The double-LP contains five less tracks and only consists of the “best of” tracks selected by the duo. A “super deluxe edition” featuring an additional third disc of remixes plus guest spots from David Bowie, Beck, Depeche Mode and Neneh Cherry will follow six weeks after the release of the initial anthology.
