Beth Orton – “1973” Video
Before she rose to prominence as a solo artist, Beth Orton got started 20 years ago singing on Chemical Brothers tracks. She’s returning to her electronic roots on her seventh studio album Kidsticks, which she co-produced with Andrew Hung of Fuck Buttons. Orton’s shared the lead single “Moon” and followup “1973,” and today she gives the latter a matching set of visuals by Deborah Johnson.
The video is a fun festival mix of Woodstock and Coachella, Orton wandering the desert while trippy, colorful overlays accentuate silhouetted figures. It’s pretty simple, but it looks like it was a lot of fun to make. Check it out.
Kidsticks is out 5/27 on Anti-.
