Blowout – “Indiana” (Stereogum Premiere)
Blowout are part of the same Portland scene that gave us Sioux Falls. Today the band gives us “Indiana,” the first single off their upcoming album No Beer, No Dad. The song is a lively celebration of buoyant, noodling guitar work and fast-paced, crashing drums accompanied by lead singer Laken Wright’s light, sincere vocals. With lyrics like, “I’m holding onto that feeling I get with you,” “Indiana” creates a sunny illumination of the effortlessly sweet feeling inspired by that special someone, consequently drowning out whatever other noise exists. But the jovial sound that does remain — well, it is nearly impossible not to dance to. Listen to “Indiana” below.
