Classic Rock Megafest Desert Trip Gets A Second Weekend
About 100,000 people can fit into the Empire Polo Fields in Indio, California. That’s where the massive Desert Trip music festival — the classic rock marathon that has the Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, Roger Waters, Bob Dylan, the Who, and Neil Young, all on the same bill — will go down this fall. 100,000 people is a whole lot of people, but it isn’t enough. Tickets for the festival went on sale this morning, and because of “overwhelming demand,” concert promoters GoldenVoice have already added a second weekend. So one week after the show’s initial 10/7-9 run, we’ll also get a second 10/14-16 show.
Due to overwhelming demand a second weekend has been added.

Honestly, if everyone involved was amenable, they could probably do something like 20 weekends of this per year. They could turn Indio into a classic-rock version of Las Vegas or Branson. People wouldn’t stop coming. Get your tickets here.
