Pearl Jam Surprise Fans With Full Album Performance For The Third Time This Year
Throughout Pearl Jam’s spring tour, the veteran rockers have twice performed full albums straight through: On 4/16 in Greenville, South Carolina, they treated fans to all of 1993’s Vs., and on 4/29 in Philadelphia (pictured above), they ran through 1992 debut Ten. And as Rolling Stone points out, Eddie Vedder and company did it again last night in Toronto.
This time 2000’s Binaural was the album of choice, a more obscure option compared to the hit-packed Ten and Vs. The band began their Air Canada Centre set with “Go,” “Do The Evolution,” and “Lightning Bolt” before launching into the whole of Binaural’s 13-song tracklist. The main set wrapped up with “Corduroy,” “Once,” and “Rearviewmirror,” and the two encores were dotted with even more hits plus covers of John Lennon’s “Imagine,” Pink Floyd’s “Comfortably Numb,” and the Who’s “The Real Me.” Plus they closed with Neil Young’s “Rockin’ In The Free World” featuring Donna Grantis from Prince’s band 3rdeyegirl.
