THEESatisfaction Break Up
THEESatisfaction, the promising Seattle avant-rap duo who released the album EarthEE last year, are going their separate ways. As Pitchfork points out, the duo made the announcement on their Tumblr recently. The announcement is gracious and warm, and it never really says why they’re calling it a day. Here’s the complete text of it:
After seven years of creating, touring, pushing boundaries and breaking through glass ceilings, THEESatisfaction has decided to end the group. We have decided to grow and take our individual careers to the next level.
Having been on the road every year since our first with very few breaks, it is time for us to rest, reflect & grow independently. We are grateful to our family, friends, fans, our agent Robin Taylor and our recording label Sub Pop for the ongoing support.
THEESatisfaction leave behind two Sub Pop albums, a handful of mixtapes, and a number of Shabazz Palaces collaborations. They were good, especially onstage. Remember them fondly.
