Today the Julie Ruin return with the second single from their forthcoming Hit Reset. Like "I Decide," the new "I'm Done" weaves traces of primitive rock 'n' roll and girl-group pop into Kathleen Hanna's confrontational punk-rock offensive, but whereas the prior single darkly stomped along into chaotic noise, this one bops like a B-52s-inflected beach party. Hanna's distinctive rallying cry remains out front as always, riding high atop the surfy undercurrent with shout-along lyrics like "I'm sick of waiting around to be heard!" It's rad, so press play and wild out.
