Madeline Kenney is a woman of many talents. Besides her background in baking, neuroscience, and modern dance, she’s also a musician with an EP on the way produced by Toro Y Moi’s Chaz Bundick. After moving from Seattle to Oakland, Kenney made the leap from a solo artist with a loop pedal to a solo artist with a full backing band, featuring members of bands like Bells Atlas, Perhapsy, and Astronauts, etc. The band worked together to create Signals, Kenney’s first EP for Bundick’s Company Records. Today we are premiering the EP’s title track and first single, which sees Kenney’s vocals really take charge, soaring above ambient dissonance before the drums kick into gear, with a guitar lead that brings the track back down to Earth.
