Fat Joe & Remy Ma – “All The Way Up (Remix)” (Feat. Jay Z)
One of the year’s best and most surprising rap hits is “All The Way Up,” a celebratory throwback banger from the New York veterans Fat Joe and Remy Ma, neither of whom has scored a hit like this in quite some time. (We wrote about it at length here.) And now, for the song’s remix, they’ve pulled out the biggest gun imaginable. Jay Z, who hasn’t released a full-on rap verse in a few years and who used to have low-key beef with Joe, has shown up on the remix. And he’s absolutely snapped, delivering his most impressive straight-up verse in recent years and starting things off referencing his new public profile in the wake of his wife’s fuck-you-you-cheated album: “You know you made it when the fact that your marriage made it is worth millions / Lemonade is a popular drink and it still is.” Joe and Remy both supply new verses, too, and Remy, as always, sounds hard. Right now, the remix is a Tidal exclusive; listen to it here.
