The Strokes – “OBLIVIUS”
Earlier today, we got word that the Strokes will release a new EP next week, and Julian Casablancas’ label Cult Records shared several teaser images via social media. The EP is titled Future Present Past and it’s now available for pre-order on the label’s web store. In the premiere episode of Casablancas’ SiriusXM radio show Culture Void this morning, he debuted the EP’s “OBLIVIUS.” Hear it and watch the band’s first interview in 10 years below.

Future Present Past was recorded in Austin and NYC with producer Gus Oberg and according to a press release they’re continuing to work on new material. The Strokes are expected to play at least one of the EP’s new songs at next weekend’s Governors Ball and at a warm-up show at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY on 5/31. The band and Cult have also announced a pop-up shop in NYC 5/30-6/5. It’s at 352 Bowery at Great Jones Street, open from noon to 9PM EST daily (and a midnight on Thursday to sell the EP) and special DJs will be announced.
