Bat For Lashes Postpones Tonight’s Brooklyn Church Show Due To Crumbling Ceiling
Bat For Lashes’ upcoming album The Bride is centered around the story of a woman whose fiancé dies on the way to their wedding, and she appropriately scheduled a performance at Brooklyn’s St. Ann’s Church tonight (where wedding attire was encouraged) to debut the album live and serve as a warm-up for their upcoming Governors Ball set this weekend. Unfortunately, the performance had to be rescheduled for tomorrow night because, as the band was sound checking this afternoon, a piece of the ceiling fell from the roof. According to a press release, “there were no injuries, but the safety of the band and their fans is everyones utmost concern.” Khan shared a note on Instagram:
I am so sorry friends to have to tell you this, but the show tonight has been cancelled because a big stone fell from the ceiling of the venue on to the stage during sound check.
Luckily no one was hurt!
We are all super sad and disappointed and management are trying to find another venue so we can re-schedule in the next week.
Updates on venue to follow,
I’m so sorry to disappoint you.
Natasha 😢😟 xx
The show will go on tomorrow night at a TBA location, and wedding attire is still encouraged.
UPDATE: The show has been moved to Music Hall of Williamsburg according to Bat For Lashes’ label Communion Music.
